Local Communities
The sound development of the surrounding communities is of fundamental importance to PV. It strives to be supportive, maintain an open dialogue and a high level of trust in its communication:
Piedras Verdes funds the operating budget of the Instituto Tecnológico de Cajeme that provides undergraduate education in engineering and management science.
Piedras Verdes funds and supports the Festival Alfonso Ortíz Tirado, an annual musical weekend in Alamos, Sonora that attracts visitors from across the country, showcases the Sonora Symphony Orchestra and combines classical music, jazz and contemporary genres
In cooperation with the municipality of Alamos, Piedras Verdes funds a temporary employment program for the local fishing communities.
Piedras Verdes created and operates a program to support local children with disabilities and actively participate in food banks for the most challenged in the communities.

PV operates to international environmental standards and is compliant with all applicable Mexican environmental standards.
No significant environmental incidents or enforcement actions since operations started in 2006.

We prioritize safety of our employees above all.
Our employees and contractors are provided with extensive ongoing training to ensure operational safety with emphasis on those who manage higher risk functions. Our corporate culture and values emphasize the precedence of safety and environmental compliance over all operational considerations.
We undertake root cause analyses of all incidents no matter how inconsequential they may be and promptly implement appropriate changes to procedures and practices.
Our safety record compares very favorably with international standards.
